A unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood at the UN General Assembly in New York in September is gaining momentum. A number of Latin-American countries have already recognized a Palestinian state. On Long Friday Turkey joined the growing number of UN member states, which are demanding a PA state. France has expressed its support to Abbas and is trying to coordinate with other EU nations. The UK is keeping  all options open. 

An Islamic Palestinian state according to the 1949 armistice demarcation lines would consist of Samaria, Judea and East Jerusalem as its capital. After 44 years as the capital of Israel and a united city, which has been open for people of all faith, Jerusalem would again be closed under Islamic rule.
